I wonder if you asked 2 different people from 2 different countries what their new year resolutions were how their answers would differ? What for example might you expect someone from Australia, UK or USA to say?

One website, Squido is currently holding a web survey to understand what the most popular resolutions are? To date, the most popular resolutions are:

1. Stop Smoking
2. Get into a Habit of being Fit
3. Lose Weight – the Battle of the Bulge
4. Enjoy Life More.
5. Quit Drinking
6. Organise Yourself – this is one of the keys to reaching your goals
7. Learn Something New
8. Get out of Debt
9. Spend More Time With Family
10. Help People.

If you were to ask a 23 year old woman living in DR Congo what her resolutions might be, what would you expect to see written?

As we reflect on the holiday season just passed, and consider where we will place “help people” on our list of resolutions this year, may we take a moment to consider how blessed we are with what we have, and what responsibility we have to love our neighbour, as we’ve been loved. To be a blessing to others, as we’ve been blessed.

This was the first opportunity that we’ve had to present the book and the concept of community partnership outside Australia. There were about 30 members of The Gap present at the service and presentation, several books were sold.

The Gap is a local community church held in a farm barnyard. The perfect setting for a nativity service

Thank you to all the folks at The Gap for their kind invitation to speak.
