Ken Duncan, Australia’s leading landscape photographer and personal friend of Love in Action creator Stuart Harris, presented at St Matthews Church in Manly at all 3 services on Sunday. Ken delivered in front of a super-widescreen which provided a backdrop to his message – the inspiration behind his photography, a great God.

Through A Glass Darkly – Blogging live

We’re blogging live from the Through A Glass Darkly exhibition located at St Matthews Anglican Church, Manly. The exhibition is in conjunction with the Manly Arts Festival and consists of work from eight artists from Manly. These include, Andy Meier, Paul Robertson, Jen Ritchi, Gabrielle Marjoram Willmott, Bronwyn Simpson, David Simpson, Margy Ritchie and Stuart Harris.

The exhibition opened at 5pm today (Friday), and will close at 8pm. It will be open again across the weekend, starting Saturday 11am – 1pm, and Sunday from 12-4pm. On Sunday Ken Duncan will be making a special presentation of his work during the three church services at 8:30am, 10:30am and 6:30pm. Ken will be speaking about what inspires him in his photography. Celebrating Poverty

Last night over 200 people gathered at the Novotel Manly Pacific for the launch celebration of Love in Action. Guests included Acting Consul-General of The Republic of Indonesia Mr Pratito Soeharyo, Ken Duncan, Mayor Jean Hay, MP Mike Baird, the Manadonese community of Sydney KMMK and the founder of Manly-Manado Jim Goddard.

Love in Action was available for purchase together with limited edition photographic prints. Profits raised from the sale of both will be donated to Manly-Manado. The money will then be distributed to development partners, Compassion Australia and Bridge of Hope.

The Love in Action photographic exhibition can be seen in the foyer of the Novotel Manly Pacific today through to Wednesday 5 August.

Love in Action featured in the Friday edition of the Manly Daily (see page 19), and was mentioned during Adam Spencer’s breakfast show on ABC JJJ. Mayor Jean Hay has written a piece for her weekly column in today’s Manly Daily (1/08/09 page 14), and Mike Frost’s weekly column, Faith Matters (1/08/09 page 14), also features Love in Action. What wonderful news.
